W3: A Day Without Water

A Day Without Water: A Glimpse Into Life's Fragile Balance Figure 1: AI Generated Image on Water Supply Disruption (ChatGPT, 2025) Water is one thing that we rarely think about, until it's gone. Everyday we turn on the tap and clean water flows from it effortlessly. But what if, one day, it didn't? What if your town had no access to clean water for 24 hours? The thought alone is unsettling, but exploring this scenario reveals just how much we take the water we use in our daily life for granted. The day begins like any other day, until you turn the bathroom faucet and nothing comes out. Initially, you assume its a minor plumbing issue. You then proceed to try the other faucets in your house and nothing comes out. Then, you check your phone and see the news: "Water supply disrupted due to burst pipes, emergency repairs underway." Panic then starts to set in. No water means no coffee, no shower and no brushing teeth. The simplest routines are now suddenly impossible....

W2: My Invention to Save The Earth

SkyBloom: The Carbon-Capturing Airship Revolutionizing Clean Air Climate change is progressing at a much faster rate and carbon dioxide (CO2) levels are at a all-time high in the last 3 million years. While reducing the emissions of CO2 is crucial, active solutions are also needed to remove the existing CO2 from the atmosphere. Introducing SkyBloom, a fleet of high-altitude, algae-powered airships designed to capture carbon and convert it into clean fuel. Inspired by Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 13, this eco-invention merges biotechnology, renewable energy and aerospace engineering to tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time.  Despite global efforts to cut emissions, the atmospheric CO2 levels have surpassed 420 ppm, which is far beyond the safe limit of 350ppm. Current carbon capture methods like direct air capture plants are expensive, land-intensive and energy consuming. Meanwhile, deforestation and ocean acidification are weakening Earth's natural carbon sinks. W...

W1: The World I Want to Live In

Image
The world I envision is one where peace, justice and inclusion are not just ideals but a reality. It is a world where every individual is valued, where communities thrive on kindness and where systemic discrimination and inequalities are relics of the past. This vision of mine aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, which promotes peaceful and inclusive societies. But what would such a world look like in practice? Let us delve deeper through its values, structures and the challenges we as a society must overcome to make it a reality. A World Shaped by Core Values In this ideal world, compassion, kindness and equity are the foundation of every law and social norm. The justice system focus on rehabilitation rather than harsh punishment, ensuring that everyone (regardless of background) has access to fair treatment. Schools teach empathy and conflict solution, fostering a culture of understanding from an early age. Figure 1: AI Generated Image of a School in This World Just ima...
